What if the Weather is Bad?

The region doesn’t have a message hotline for weather updates. Our general policy is to show up to the field at game time, due to the fact that the weather can change in a very short time. We do NOT cancel games for rain, snow or cold unless the field is unplayable, but that determination cannot be made until game time.

The only type of weather that we cancel games for is lightning, again, only at the field at game time or after the game has started.  If lightning is seen, the players, parents and coaches should be sent to their vehicles and the game should be suspended for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes is up a determination can be made as to restarting the game.

If lightning is still visible, the game should remain stopped. If the game was still in the first half when stopped, then the game can be rescheduled, if the second half was started when it was stopped, then the game will be counted as complete with the score counting as final.

The Coaches should always encourage their players & parents to show up at the field at game time because if one team has enough players and the other team doesn't, the team without enough players will forfeit the game, if it could be played. If there is a referee at the field for your game, they are the only person that can determine field playability.  If there is no referee, the coaches must come to an agreement as to playability.

When it gets cold or wet, they are allowed to wear warm clothing under their uniforms, including knit hats and gloves.  If they wear a hooded sweatshirt, the hood must be tucked in to the jersey.
